Course intent
Learn to measure and make a simple Roman blind from scratch. We will use widely available and budget conscious materials, remnant fabrics, re-use and recycle trimming, to make a beautiful but inexpensive Roman blind.
What will I learn?
You will learn how to
- measure and calculate fabric quantities
- use basic machine sewing functions
- hand sew elements of the blind
- string up and fold the blind
- simple decorative techniques with waste fabric/ribbons.
- install your completed blind
- 1 metre of outer fabric
- 1metre of lining fabric.
- Reel of matching machine thread.
- Hand sewing needles.
- A metre ruler and dressmakers tape measure.
- pencil/paper

You will also need to buy wooden dowelling for your rods, blind cords, blind rings etc, but will be advised on exact amounts after the first session.
