Course intent
You will learn the difference between social media platforms and what they are best used for. Understand how to respect the privacy of others, how to stay safe and which images you can use to stay within the copyright laws.
What will I learn?
The following topics are included on the course:
- An overview of social media, its benefits and conventions
- How to set up a social media account, including personal preferences/security settings
- Observe demonstrations as well as having practical experience of using Facebook/X (Twitter)
- See the benefits of using YouTube and what it has to offer
- Safeguarding, Prevent and British Values
- Open and save files
- Use cut, copy and paste.
- Search for images online
- Save and recover your files
- A reliable internet connection
- A computer/laptop /tablet with a fully updated browser
- A working microphone and webcam.
- Have details of at least one contact (family member or friend) who already uses social media.
