Course intent
.Strong for Longer is a collection of strength and confidence-building courses adapted to you, whatever your stage in life. These unique courses provide you with an opportunity to regain and maintain the skills and knowledge to protect your health now and in the future. Strong for Longer courses are aimed at adults of all ages looking to increase their day-to-day movement and improve their muscle strength. The course works at your level.
What will I learn?
You will learn:
- A range of Tai Chi exercises to develop balance, body awareness and mental focus to prepare you for learning the form.
- The Tai Chi Form
- How to revitalise mind, body and spirit through the learning and practice of a set sequence of movements performed slowly with precision.
- Basic principles and exercises, working gently at your own personal level of ability, to help you be more active, and boost your wellbeing. "

- Want to start or reintroduce Tai Chi into your week.
- Feel confident with light to moderate physical activity.
- Want to maintain or rehabilitate strength and movement.

What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?

- Wear comfortable clothing that will allow you to reach up and bend down.
- Tai Chi is practised with bare feet or soft soled shoes
- Bring a bottle of drinking water. The centre has fountains to refill. "
What can I do when I finish the course?
..When you finish your course, you can either enrol on another Strong for Longer course to maintain good physical health, or use the course as a stepping stone to our more challenging courses when you feel stronger and more confident.

.".We welcome learners with additional needs and disabilities. When you enrol, please let us know if you would like to discuss your extra support needs with a member of the Supported Learning Team who will then contact you as soon as possible. If you are enrolling within 10 days of the course start date, we may not be able to contact you before your first class.
