Microsoft Spreadsheets Excel - Intermediate [HPT]

Course intent

You will use the popular Excel software, part of the Microsoft Office suite, to create more advanced spreadsheets, incorporating formatting and functions to automate and design workbooks and worksheets. Excel is a powerful spreadsheet tool which can help you produce personal budgets, record work expenses, present data with colourful charts and graphs and much more on this face-to-face course.

If you use/have used a different spreadsheet programme, the skills learned here are easily transferrable.

What will I learn?

You will:

  • Create a spreadsheet
  • Input and format both text and numbers on a worksheet
  • Use mathematical operators (+ / * -) to perform calculations
  • Use basic formula and functions to analyse data
  • Create simple charts from worksheet data
  • Save and print a worksheet template for future use
  • Observe and discuss Safeguarding, Prevent and British Values
  • Who is this course for? Is there anything I need to know before joining?

    This intermediate course is for

    • Anyone with good computer, mouse and keyboard skills and have a basic knowledge of Excel.
    • If you are new to Excel or spreadsheets, please try our Excel – Introduction or Stage 1 course first.
    • If you are new to computers, please look at our Digital Skills & Confidence courses

    As our courses are taught in English, please contact us if you have any concerns about your level of English.

    What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?

    Notepad and pen. No extra costs
