Family Learning - Healthy Lunchbox for School

Course intent

You and your family will develop practical skills and knowledge in preparing and cooking healthy meals and snacks. This will impact positively on your family.

What will I learn?

.This is two sessions (1.5 hours each) delivered over two weeks. You will learn skills at making and creating healthy choices for your child’s lunchbox . You will use different techniques and methods to build your confidence to create a nourishing and healthy lunchbox.

• You will learn how to use healthy ingredients.
• Understand simple food swaps for health and dietary needs.

A list of ingredients will be emailed to you. YOU DO NOT REQUIRE A MIXER OR BLENDER if you do not have one. Tutor will give dietary alternatives during sessions.

Who is this course for? Is there anything I need to know before joining?

.This course is for parents, carers and children aged five plus who live in surrey and want to cook together This is delivered online via Zoom

What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?

.You will need to:

• Have your camera on
• Provide a mobile phone number and email address when you enrol so that we can contact you about your course.
• Please attend all sessions
• A reliable internet connection
• A computer/laptop/tablet or phone with a fully updated browser (preferably Google Chrome), microphone and camera
• A pen and paper
• Check your email for detailed joining instructions two days before course starts.
• Fill out the `Getting to know you` form and fill out `Tell us what you think` form

What can I do when I finish the course?

.At the end of this course, we will give you details of what you can move on to next, for example volunteering, further courses with Surrey Adult Learning, a college or employment.

.We welcome learners with additional needs and disabilities. When you enrol, please let us know if you would like to discuss your extra support needs with a member of the Supported Learning Team who will then contact you as soon as possible. If you are enrolling within 10 days of the course start date, we may not be able to contact you before your first class.
