Course intent
You will develop your skills and knowledge to build sensory routines to support your child's behaviour and learning. This will positively impact on your family wellbeing
What will I learn?
This is a FREE online workshop - 2-hour session. You will work with tutor and other parents to understand how to build sensory routines to positively support your child's behaviour and learning. Learn how our brains work and why some children may need a 'sensory diet' to help them cope with anxiety, sensory over-load and dysregulation.
- Learn some strategies and approaches which can help your child to be less anxious
- Learn to support your child cope with their day-to-day life.
- Learn to build positive routines
Who is this course for? Is there anything I need to know before joining?
This course is suitable for parents, carers and grandparents who live in Surrey and want to have a positive impact on their child’s sensory routine. This is delivered online via Zoom.
What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?
You will need to:
- Have your camera on
- Provide a mobile phone number and email address when you enrol so that we can contact you about your course.
- Please attend all sessions
- A reliable internet connection
- A computer/laptop/tablet or phone with a fully updated browser (preferably Google Chrome), microphone and camera
- A pen and paper
- Check your email for detailed joining instructions two days before course starts.

What can I do when I finish the course?
At the end of this course we will give you details of what you can move on to next, for example volunteering, further courses with Surrey Adult Learning, a college or employment.

We welcome learners with additional needs and disabilities. When you enrol, please let us know if you would like to discuss your extra support needs with a member of the Supported Learning Team who will then contact you as soon as possible. If you are enrolling within 10 days of the course start date, we may not be able to contact you before your first class.
