Family Learning - Building Your Childs Concentration Workshop

Course intent

This course will give parents/carers the first step tools to obtain the skills and knowledge needed to make a lasting positive impact and change to family life

What will I learn?

.This is a FREE one-week online workshop designed to provide parents and carers with an understanding of concentration skills and practical strategies for how to encourage these skills in your child. It is aimed at parents and carers of children from 4 – 11 years old.

Learners will:

  • Develop their knowledge of the 4 types of concentration
  • Consider what influences the ability to concentrate
  • Understand how a child’s concentration skills can be developed and improved
  • Who is this course for? Is there anything I need to know before joining?

    .This course is for parents/carers who reside in Surrey with children and young people who want to understand more about concentration skills for in children and young people and how they can support their child to develop or improve skills in this area. This is delivered online via Zoom

    What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?

    .What do I need to bring :

    • Have my camera on
    • Provide a mobile phone number and email address when you enrol so that we can contact you about your course.
    • Please attend all sessions
    • A reliable internet connection
    • A computer/laptop/tablet or phone with a fully updated browser (preferably Google Chrome), microphone and camera
    • A pen and paper
    • Check your email for detailed joining instructions two days before course starts.
    • Fill out `Tell us what you think` form
    • Contact us on family.learning@surreycc.gov.uk if you have any questions
    • What can I do when I finish the course?

      .At the end of this course, we will give you details of what you may wish to move on to next, for example volunteering, further courses with Surrey Adult Learning, a college or employment

      .We welcome learners with additional needs and disabilities. When you enrol, please let us know if you would like to discuss your extra support needs with a member of the Supported Learning Team who will then contact you as soon as possible. If you are enrolling within 10 days of the course start date, we may not be able to contact you before your first class.
