Family Learning - Exploring Behaviour Strategies course

Course intent

This course will give parents/carers the tools to obtain the skills and knowledge needed to make a positive impact and make positive changes to family life.

What will I learn?

.This FREE online course will run for two weeks – 2 hours a session. You will explore the different types of behaviour children display and learn what motivates children to behave in particular ways.

• Learn about behaviour strategies for promoting positive behaviour
• Learn behaviour strategies for managing challenging behaviour in your child
• Use your own experiences of parenting to manage your child’s behaviour

  Who is this course for? Is there anything I need to know before joining?

  .If you are a parent/carer of a child of a Primary School child in Surrey then this course will help you learn new ways of promoting positive behaviour in your child. This is delivered online via Zoom

  What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?

  .What do I need to bring :

• Have your camera on
• Provide a mobile phone number and email address when you enrol so that we can contact you about your course.
• Please attend all sessions
• A reliable internet connection
• A computer/laptop/tablet or phone with a fully updated browser (preferably Google Chrome), microphone and camera
• A pen and paper
• Check your email for detailed joining instructions two days before course starts.
• Fill out the `Getting to know you` form and fill out `Tell us what you think` form

What can I do when I finish the course?

.At the end of this course we will give you details of what you can move on to next, for example volunteering, further courses with Surrey Adult Learning, a college or employment

.We welcome learners with additional needs and disabilities. When you enrol, please let us know if you would like to discuss your extra support needs with a member of the Supported Learning Team who will then contact you as soon as possible. If you are enrolling within 10 days of the course start date, we may not be able to contact you before your first class.
