Course intent
During this engaging course, according to your level, you will develop drawing, painting and design skills, gaining a deeper understanding of the range of techniques and processes used when drawing from a Life Model.
What will I learn?
You will learn:
- The basic principles of life drawing
- Quick drawing techniques
- Observational drawing and painting
- Proportion
- Using measuring techniques
- Portraying human form using geometric shapes
- Composition
- Use of a variety of materials: charcoal, pastel, ink, etc
- Using different mark-making techniques
- Different papers and their uses
- Colour & tonal values
Who is this course for? Is there anything I need to know before joining?
This course is for all abilities.
What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?
You need to bring: · A2 cartridge paper · Additional paper in different colours (this could just be 5 different sheets ranging from A4-A3 size) · Drawing media (any combination of pencil, graphite, charcoal, pen etc.) · Colour pastels (chalk or oil) · Masking tape
What can I do when I finish the course?
Learners can progress onto many opportunities to take up other art & craft classes, including further drawing and painting courses or one-day specific life drawing workshops.
