Tap Dance - taster

Course intent

Tap dancing gets the heart rate up. It tones major muscle groups in the legs and core and is a super fun and sociable way to stay in shape. Noisy fun dancing!

What will I learn?

You will be learning:

The basic tap dance steps, sequences & combinations, building to a choreographed routine.

By the end of the workshop, you will learn how to shift the weight from one foot to the other.

How to strengthen your core, which has numerous health benefits

Who is this course for? Is there anything I need to know before joining?

Open to all. From complete beginners to those wanting to refresh their skills or more experienced dancers. EVERYONE WELCOME.

What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?

Tap shoes will be essential and should be brought to every lesson. You will need to wear clothing that you can easily move in such as t-shirt and leggings. Please bring a water bottle. There are fountains to refill in the centre.

In discussion with your tutor, you can decide the best route for you. We have a range of Tap courses for you to keep dancing

When you enrol, please let us know if you would like to discuss your extra support needs with a member of the Supported Learning Team who will then contact you as soon as possible. If you are enrolling within 10 days of the course start date, we may not be able to contact you before your first class.
