Oil & Acrylic Painting - Experimental Techniques - All Abilities

Course intent

The course will introduce you to both oil and acrylic painting methods using a sketchbook, photographs, and researched images along with modern and traditional approaches and direct observation

What will I learn?

You will:

• Develop individual skills in tone, colour and composition
• Research and take inspiration from other artists work
• Gaining confidence in using both oil & acrylic materials
• Get creative with your painting
• Have access to one to one support
• Discover and develop your abilities through a mixture of practice, discussion and demonstration techniques

Who is this course for? Is there anything I need to know before joining?

This course is for painters who like to experiment and try something different, and to be encouraged to develop a more creative approach

What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?

You need to bring:

• Oil or Acrylic materials you may already have
• A pad of A3 cartridge paper
• Soft grade of pencils (4B or 6B)
• Charcoal
• Soft rubber
• For oil paint, please use low odour solvents such as Zest-It or Sansodor
• Notebook and pen

All materials and resources you will need through the course will be discussed at induction.
