Course intent

Our series of one-off lectures will give you the opportunity to delve into the details of Royal History with our expert tutor. In this lecture, we will discuss the life of Catherine Parr.

What will I learn?

Remembered as the sixth wife of King Henry VIII, Catherine Parr was in fact England’s most married Queen with a total of four husbands. A caring step-mother to Henry VIII’s children and a Protestant sympathiser, Catherine Parr’s book ‘Prayers or Meditations’ was the first book published by an English queen.
