Course intent
Capture the intricate patterns, textures and shapes of flowers and plants in a plaster cast relief. By pressing the chosen foliage into clay, mould making and casting in plaster, you will be able to take your unique piece home at the end of the session.
What will I learn?
You will learn
- To prepare and roll out the clay
- To select the foliage to create a balanced design
- To make a secure mould for the casting of your unique design
- To prepare the plaster, mix and pour.
- To finish your relief plaster cast ready to take home.
- Please wear clothes for messy work, closed toe shoes and bring an apron or old oversized shirt for protection.
- A packed lunch and drinks.
Who is this course for? Is there anything I need to know before joining?
Any ability. Beginners welcome, along with those who have some experience with clay and sculpture.
What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?

What can I do when I finish the course?
You may wish to continue with using clay and plaster in the sculpture termly courses with this tutor, or the sculpture with a life model course.
