Crochet - a Bucket Hat - All Abilities Workshop

Course intent

Choose your own colours and learn basic stitches and how to measure to produce a unique crochet’d bucket hat for a man, woman or child.

What will I learn?

You will learn

  • The three basic crochet stitches on which all crochet stitch patterns are based.
  • How to take accurate measurements.
  • How to finish and block your hat.

    This course is for all abilities

    What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?

    For your workshop you need to bring: 2 x 50gm balls Aran or DK weight yarn www.lovecrafts.co.uk / www.lindehobby.co.uk 1 crochet hook half size down from recommended on your yarn.

    Tapestry/wool darning needle.

    Tape measure.

    Needlework scissors

    What can I do when I finish the course?

    Learners can join other crochet classes or workshops to improve and expand on their skills or join other Surrey Adult learning courses to enhance further skills and learning.

    We welcome learners with additional needs and disabilities. When you enrol, please let us know if you would like to discuss your extra support needs with a member of the Supported Learning Team who will then contact you as soon as possible. If you are enrolling within 10 days of the course start date, we may not be able to contact you before your first class.
