Patchwork - Make Pictorial Patchwork Blocks (Animals) - Beginners & Improvers Workshop

Course intent

Treat yourself to a fun and rewarding day creating animal picture blocks using patchwork. Choose from a variety of prepared blocks eg a dog, cat, bird, bat, fish or make up your own design. Sew individual or multiple patchwork blocks to make a table runner, special comfy cushion or other similar item for yourself or a friend.

What will I learn?

Whilst making your animal blocks, this practical workshop will allow you to learn new skills in patchwork and quilting, re-visit forgotten techniques and develop existing ones.

Who is this course for? Is there anything I need to know before joining?

This practical workshop is for people who enjoy sewing and is designed for all ability levels. If you are a beginner some familiarity with fabric, thread and a sewing machine would be beneficial. More experienced learners will be encouraged to develop and extend their skills.

What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?

A ‘needs list’ will be sent out before the start of the workshop which will include what you need to bring and where to source fabrics. Some recycled fabrics may be a viable option.

What can I do when I finish the course?

This workshop can be studied in isolation or considered as an introduction into a much larger subject area that makes a creative hobby.
