Sewing - Transform & Restyle Clothes All Abilities Workshop

Course intent

Refashion old clothes into uniquely styled pieces while reducing waste and promoting sustainability. This course is designed for individuals with basic sewing skills who want to breathe new life into their old clothes or charity shop finds and gain confidence in their sewing abilities.

What will I learn?

In this 1-day course, you'll learn creative refashioning techniques to transform old clothes into stylish, one-of-a-kind pieces that reflect your personal style. You'll discover how to:

  • Identify potential in old or second-hand clothes
  • Design and plan your refashioning project
  • Use basic sewing skills to bring your design to life
  • Add embellishments and finishing touches to give your piece a professional look
  • Who is this course for? Is there anything I need to know before joining?

This course is perfect for individuals who enjoy quirky and unique fashion, have basic sewing skills, and want to upcycle their old clothes or charity shop finds. You should have some experience with a sewing machine and basic sewing techniques but you may lack confidence or inspiration to sew independently.

What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?

    Please bring:

    • Old clothes or charity shop finds you'd like to refashion
    • Basic sewing kit (thread, scissors, pins, etc.)
    • Sewing machine (if you have one)
    • What can I do when I finish the course?

Upon completing this course, you'll have the skills and confidence to continue refashioning old clothes into unique, eco-friendly pieces. You'll also be part of a community that values sustainable fashion and reduces waste. You can continue to develop your skills, share your creations with others, or even start your own upcycling business.
