Drawing & Painting - Advanced

Course intent

This course will help you to establish a range of advanced methods of drawing & painting using a sketchbook, photographs, found images and direct observation

What will I learn?

You will

• Develop individual skills in tone, colour and composition
• Researching & inspiring other artists work
• Gain confidence in using both drawing and painting materials
• Have access to one to one support
• Discover and develop your abilities through a mixture of practice, discussion and demonstration techniques

  Who is this course for? Is there anything I need to know before joining?

  This course is suitable for improving and advanced painters with a good understanding of the subject. Particularly for those who want to be encouraged to develop a more creative, or abstract approach

  What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?

  You need to bring:

• Drawing & painting materials you may already have purchased
• A pad of A3 cartridge paper
• Soft grade of pencils (4B or 6B)
• A soft rubber and/or a graphite stick
• Notebook and pen

Any materials and resources that you may need throughout the course will be discussed at induction.

What can I do when I finish the course?

In discussion with your tutor, you may like to progress onto further Arts & Crafts courses. Learners may wish to continue with advanced courses or select one covering different painting materials or techniques in more depth
