An Introduction to Floristry - A Floral Posy in Oasis Workshop

Course intent

You will create a posy arrangement and will look at how to use the new skills learnt for pleasure or for work.

What will I learn?

You will learn:

How to use oasis correctly

how to choose a selection of flowers suitable to use for a posy arrangement

how to construct an all-round posy

how to keep your flowers fresh

You will have the opportunity to discuss floristry with your tutor who has x year’s industry experience.

Who is this course for? Is there anything I need to know before joining?

All abilities are welcome, you just need a love of flowers and keenness to learn a new skill that can be a stepping stone to wherever you want to go.

What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?

A pair of scissors, a plastic covering for the table and a box to take your design home. 1 bunch of mixed Chrysanthemum I bunch of Gypshophilia

The tutor will provide Oasis

What can I do when I finish the course?

Create a floral arrangement to a good standard. Continue learning by enrolling on an Adult Education flower arranging course: please email sophie.artemis@surreycc.gov.uk if you need advice on Surrey Adult Learning courses. Consider applying to do a floristry qualification.
