Who can enrol on an adult learning course?

Most of our courses are open to adults aged 18 and over (on the course start date) and you can enrol online, via the website. We can also take enrolment by phone if you contact us or in person at one of our adult learning centres.

For the following specialist provisions:

  • English and maths
  • English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)
  • Employment and computer skills
  • Passport to wellbeing
  • Supported learning
  • Outreach

You must be aged 19 or over on the 31 August 2024 and be able to easily travel to an agreed Surrey Adult Learning centre to sit exams/assessments where applicable.

Our Adult Skills provision helps adults work towards and gain a qualification in areas such as English and maths, English for speakers of other languages (ESOL) and Essential Digital Skills. An Information, Assessment and Guidance (IAG) session is required before enrolment onto one of these courses, to assess that the level of course is suitable for the learner.

Our Passport to Wellbeing provision is aimed at adults who are experiencing, or are recovering from, mild to moderate mental wellbeing difficulties. An Information, Advice and Guidance session is required before enrolment.

Our Supported Learning provision is for adults with learning disabilities. An Information, Advice and Guidance session is required before enrolment.

Further information about our specialist provisions mentioned above and also our Henrietta Parker Trust (HPT), Family Learning and Outreach work can be found on the specific webpages throughout the site.
