Consulting on school admission arrangements

Admission authorities (the local authority or the school's governing body/academy trust) must consult on their admission arrangements if they propose a change other than an increase to their published admission number. They must also consult if they have not consulted in the last seven years.

Consultation must take place for at least six weeks between 1 October and 31 January.

Community and voluntary controlled schools

The local authority is responsible for consulting on the admission arrangements for community and voluntary controlled schools. Details of our consultations are below.

Academies and foundation, free, trust and voluntary aided schools

The governing body is responsible for consulting on the admission arrangements for academies and foundation, free, trust and voluntary aided schools. When this occurs, the details must be made available on each school's website. You can find a link to your school's website in the directory of Surrey schools.
