Spring/Summer 25
Below is the three-week Primary school menu cycle.
Over 80% of our menu is cooked from scratch using fresh ingredients. All our menus adhere to Government Food Standards and are developed with little ones in mind.
Each day we provide three nutritious options that cater for a diverse range of palates. We continually promote the consumption of vegetables and on Mondays all meals are meat free, alongside our regular daily Vegetarian offering.
We take great pride in ensuring that our lunches are prepared using only the finest ingredients.
We like to make our meals as nutritionally dense as possible, for example we add carrots and courgette to fortify our homemade tomato sauce which we use in a variety of recipes such as on our pizzas and in our freshly made pasta dishes.
- All our meat across our menu is Red Tractor certified - including our new 'Chicken and five veg' burger.
- We reduce salt and sugar across our recipes for example some puddings contain 50% fruit like our apple and pear sponges.
- We will be serving brown and white rice, an important source of B vitamins and fibre.
- Our freshly produced bio-live smooth flavoured yoghurts come from a family run farm in Wales, made with local Red Tractor assured milk.
- We help pupils on their way to '5 A Day' - our new Chicken and 'hidden' five veg meatballs are packed with 30% more fibre, high protein and 30% less fat/saturated fat than a regular equivalent.
- We craft our pizza bases, desserts and fresh daily bread from award-winning local golden wholemeal flour.
- Our new ketchup contains 88% tomatoes (and 75% less sugar and 80% less salt than regular versions).
Please note, menus are sometimes adapted to meet specific school requirements for example the number of daily options served.
