Types of waste we charge for
List of chargeable and non-chargeable waste items
There are charges for disposing of:
- Construction waste - certain types of waste arising from the construction, alteration or repair of your home and garden at our Community Recycling Centres (CRCs). This type of waste is considered non-household or DIY waste.
- Residents with a valid van, pickup or trailer permit can now bring chargeable, construction waste to certain CRCs in these vehicles. This must be bagged. Loose loads will not be accepted. Unfortunately residents with a valid van, pickup or trailer permit are still unable to bring non chargeable construction waste into our CRCs in these vehicles
- Tyres.
Most other waste can still be taken to our CRCs for free.
Surrey residents will be allowed to visit our Community Recycling Centres (CRCs) with DIY waste. Free allowance of DIY waste per household is limited to 1 visit in a 7 day period. For more information, see our details of the free allowances.
If you are not sure of the best way to recycle or dispose of a particular item of waste or you would like to know which is your nearest CRC, check 'What can I recycle?' and it will give you all the information you need.
