Who is Sur-i?
Sur-i is a new digital assistant we are trialling on our website. It is currently being used to:
- Answer your questions about school admissions
- Help you book, change or cancel a death registration appointment
You won't be able to ask questions about any other topics during the trial.
How does it work?
Sur-i uses customer responses from previous questions to learn how best to answer your questions. It's constantly improving and becoming better at providing useful information. We will be examining its effectiveness during the trial, to judge whether to continue the project.
Why have we done this?
We have introduced this facility to answer your questions and arrange appointments more quickly, and at all hours of the day and night.
When is it available?
Sur-i will be able to answer questions and arrange appointments 24 hours a day, and can respond quickly regardless of the number of questions it is receiving at any one time. Sur-i will only appear on the school admissions and death registration appointment sections of our website.
What can I ask it about?
You can ask Sur-i about any issues relating to school admissions, such as applying for junior or secondary school places, organising school transportation. For a full list of the areas covered by school admissions, please visit our school admissions pages.
Sur-i can also be used to book, change or cancel a death registration appointment.
How can I access it?
You can launch Sur-i from most school admission pages, as well as the death registration appointment page, by pressing the chat with me button.
